Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will develop, implement, and evaluate volunteer program goals and objectives to ensure alignment with our organization’s mission. You will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current volunteers, managing everything from the full recruitment cycle—including screening, interviewing, and onboarding—to the ongoing supervision and maintenance of our volunteer recognition program.

Each day, you will oversee the daily operations of the Volunteer Services Office, collaborating with department leaders to assess service needs and managing volunteer schedules across clinical and ancillary departments. Your responsibilities include ensuring proper compliance with regulatory requirements, keeping volunteers informed through regular updates, and reinforcing organizational policies, safety protocols, and core values.

To excel, you must demonstrate strong judgment, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining professional communication with staff, volunteers, and external partners. You are required to possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills, the experience to speak effectively before groups, and the ability to type at least 45 wpm to successfully manage our program operations

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate goals and objectives for Volunteer Services, ensuring alignment with the mission of the organization. Report to Director on-going basis.

  • Collaborate with organizational department leaders to assess need for volunteer services in specific areas, develop volunteer position descriptions and advertise volunteer positions through appropriate channels to meetoperational goals.

  • Complete the full recruitment cycle, including: application review, interview, reference checks, selection of eligible candidates, and assess volunteer applicants for placement. Facilitate new-volunteer onboarding processincluding orientation, hospital compliance requirements, policy review, and departmental introductions.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High school graduate upon hire and one (1) to three (3) years in volunteer management required or

  • Bachelors of Arts upon hire and one (1) to three (3) years in volunteer management preferred

  • Experience speaking before groups

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

  • Type 45 wpm

  • Must demonstrate good judgement, interpersonal communication skills and problem solving

Preferred

  • Google workspace desirable
