Description

ITU AbsorbTech is hiring a Fleet Mechanic to join our team in New Berlin, WI.

In this role, you will:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and diesel fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic lift gates, and electrical systems.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with established maintenance schedules.

  • Clean, inspect, and maintain fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness.

  • Complete emergency roadside service calls within the service area as needed.

  • Install and remove vehicle decals and replace mechanical components, including motors, pumps, and gearboxes.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.

  • Train new drivers and provide guidance to less experienced fleet employees.

  • Operate snow removal equipment and perform de-icing activities during winter weather events.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with a start time between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Schedule flexibility is required, including travel to other ITU AbsorbTech locations, such as Madison, WI; Neenah, WI; Wausau; and Elk Grove Village, IL, based on business needs.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 5-years of fleet, diesel, or automotive maintenance experience required.

  • Technical degree in diesel or automotive technology, Class A CDL, and MIG/TIG welding experience preferred.

  • Experience repairing commercial vehicles and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and operate standard shop equipment and mechanic's tools.

  • Safe driving record required.

  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based maintenance systems.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT Medical Card and provide personal hand tools.
