Process Lab Aide
Part Time, Second Shift - Rotating Weekends / Call
Responsible for correctly ordering lab tests to be performed and accurately reporting lab results by telephone.
Job Duties:
Receives specimens, processes specimens, results and charges appropriate tests.
Understands pertinent LIS functions and performs procedures effectively.
Performs data entry of patient information, ordering of tests, scheduling tests, etc. in laboratory computer and reviews the Expected List for specimens not received into the laboratory.
Prints, sorts and distributes lab reports; answers telephone and relays messages.
Notifies phlebotomists of orders to be collected and communicates test information and results to physicians, nurses and outside clients.
Transports specimens to the processing area or appropriate lab department.
