Job Description

The Public Health Nurse is responsible for managing the daily public health nursing activities for the performance of core public health functions and the delivery of the “10 essential public health services” at N.J.A.C. 8:52-3.2(a) 1 through 10 and shall ensure the coordination of public health nursing services which are delivered by all agencies in Somerset County as described in its Community Health Improvement Plan to identify gaps, provide continuity of services, and reduce duplication. This position works with other nursing team members and public health partners to ensure that all parties thoroughly understand the reportable communicable disease regulations, cases/incidents, and the notification and response protocols.
