Full job description
Our Part-Time Substitute School Nurses impact students’ lives by:

Responding with urgency to student health and hygiene needs
-
Obtaining students’ health history; providing health assessments and ongoing counseling with students, parents, school personnel, or health agencies
-
Screening and evaluating deficiencies in vision, hearing, and growth
-
Maintaining, evaluating, and interpreting health data to accommodate individual student needs
-
Developing and implementing student health plans
-
Developing systems and procedures to provide emergency nursing services for injuries and illnesses

Administering medication to students, as needed

Are qualified to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Louisiana and hold an unrestricted license

Are certified in CPR

Have an outstanding record of working in school health, community health, public health, or pediatric nursing
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
