Full job description

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is assisting our client with hiring a Medical Assistant in Palm Harbor, Florida! This role is in person / on site. Please review the details below and apply with an updated resume.

Position Type : Three-month contract to hire!

Schedule : Monday through Friday; 8am to 5pm

Pay : $22.30 to $24.30 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant :

  • Demonstrates clinical competence in the direct care of patients in established area(s) of practice, and assisting MDs with procedures

  • Performs clinical duties within scope of practice complying with the accepted department standards, policies, and protocols

  • Exhibits a proactive approach to patient care, focusing on addressing each patient’s individual and family needs at the time of service; communicates identified needs in a timely manner

  • Direct and/or escorts patients to exam rooms in a timely manner

  • Demonstrated clinical competence when assisting physician/mid-level healthcare professional and/or nurse during exams and office diagnostic procedures/treatments

  • Performs authorized procedures competently (i.e. vital signs, vision screening, selected laboratory tests) as directed by physician or nurse in clinical practice area

  • Seeks validation/guidance from physicians, mid-level healthcare professional and/or nurse when necessary

  • Inspects, cleans/prepares and processes instruments/equipment according to manufacturers or guidelines

  • Processes specimens for transport to laboratory, ensuring that specimens are properly labeled and appropriate orders have been placed in EPIC.

  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications of the Medical Assistant :

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent

  • Medical Assistant certification or registration (or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment)

  • CPR / BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)

  • One year of medical assistant experience

  • Prior knowledge of EPIC preferred

Pay Details: $22.30 to $24.30 per hour
