Volunteer Coach Job Description:
South Bend Community School Corporation Volunteer Coaches play a crucial role in developing the skills, confidence, and sportsmanship of our participants and supporting our paid coaching staff. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to make a positive impact on the community and gain valuable experience in coaching and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate training sessions for SBCSC Athletics that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship under direction of the Athletics Department.

Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment that encourages personal and athletic growth.

Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and organization staff to provide updates on progress, schedules, and any concerns.

Monitor and assess participant performance, providing constructive feedback and motivation to help individuals achieve their personal and team goals.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices, games, and related activities.

Assist with the coordination of team events, competitions, and community outreach initiatives.

Promote the organization's values and contribute to a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in the specific sport or activity as a player or coach is preferred but not required.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to motivate and inspire youth and/or adult participants.

Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.

Reliable and punctual, with a genuine interest in volunteerism and community service.

Willingness to undergo training and adhere to the organization's coaching philosophy and safety protocols.
