Job Description
Prepares and positions antepartum patient for ultrasonic examination. Performs high risk obstetrical ultrasound studies. Operates and maintains ultrasonic diagnostic equipment.
Job Responsibility
1.Prepares patients for ultrasonic examinations by determining necessary anatomical positioning of patients, in accordance with departmental policy.
2.Sets up and operates various types of ultrasonic equipment.
Adjusts and operates controls to obtain correct exposure in accordance with departmental regulations.
Loads and unloads film in cameras and makes exposures for each film, using proper film and identification for each patient.
3.Performs ultrasound exams including, but not limited to, nuchal translucency, ultra-screens, comprehensive anatomical surveys and fetal Doppler studies.
Recognizes significance of all structures visualized on oscilloscope and differentiates artifacts from normal or pathological processes in timely manner.
Ensures proper views and images are obtained and proper techniques are utilized. Determines need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions
4.Recognizes and promptly notifies physician of any changes in patient's condition and/or motor abnormality such as fainting, discoloration, etc.
5.Maintains records and statistics of ultrasound examinations.
6.Maintains equipment in proper working order, makes minor adjustments, and requests repair service, as required.
7.Provides technical guidance and assistance to staff, students and medical staff rotating through area.
8.Maintains inventory and orders supplies, as required.
9.Participates in research projects, as required.
10.Performs related duties as required.
Job Qualification
Graduated from an approved Ultrasound Program, required.
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registration in Obstetrics and Gynecology specialty, required.
Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) OR Nuchal Translucency Quality Review certification, required.
BLS certification, required.
Minimum of two (2) years related sonography experience, required.
Demonstrated knowledge of various ultrasonic techniques and procedures, required.
Ability to communicate effectively.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $58.06-$69.15/hour
