Description: Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital is looking for a Security Guard to join our Security Team! Job Title: Security Officer

Employment Type: Per Diem

Shift: Night Shift and Weekends Location: Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital

Position Purpose

The Security Officer is responsible for the security of hospital employees, patients/families, visitors, and property.

As a Security Officer you will:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions .

  • Recognizes special needs/concerns of populations served and adjusts communication accordingly, i.e., language barrier, diminished hearing, concrete terms, etc.

  • Does Patrol Tours

  • Monitors Close Circuit TV (CCTV)

  • Responds to all Emergency Code alerts

  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Valid Driver's license in good standing

  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with co-workers, patients and visitors

  • Perform alone or as a team member in the management of aggressive or violent behavior through non-abusive physical intervention.

  • 1-year Prior hospital experience preferred
