As a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer you will join our System Design team in Sofia. You will play a central role in the architecture, design, and development of our next-generation FRAME satellite platforms, working at the intersection of all spacecraft subsystems — power, communications, data handling, structures, and thermal.

As a senior member of the team, you will own system-level requirements and budgets, drive design trade-offs, and work hands-on with subsystem engineers, AIT teams, and external partners to take our spacecraft from concept through qualification to flight.

Some of your daily tasks will include:

  • Define, decompose, and manage system requirements — from top-level mission and customer requirements down to subsystem and component specifications — ensuring full traceability throughout the spacecraft lifecycle

  • Develop and maintain system architecture definitions, functional block diagrams, interface definitions, and operational concepts

  • Own and iterate system-level budgets (mass, power, data, link) and drive design trade-offs across subsystems

  • Support the design, development, integration, and verification of spacecraft subsystems (EPS, communications, on-board data handling, ADCS, structures)

  • Work closely with AIT teams during assembly, integration, functional, and environmental test campaigns, and support the resolution of non-conformances

  • Interface with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers on technical matters — reviewing deliverables, supporting design reviews, and ensuring requirement compliance

  • Produce and review high-quality technical documentation: specifications, interface control documents, verification plans and reports, and design review data packages

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems engineering processes and tools What do we look for?

  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development, and delivery of spacecraft systems (power, communications, data handling, etc.)

  • Degree in aerospace engineering, electronics, computer science, or a similar technical field

  • Experience with defining, tracking, and flowing down requirements from top-level requirements to component requirements

  • Ability to communicate through and understand graphical representations — schematics, sequence diagrams, state diagrams

  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work across disciplines in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and spoken English How to Stand Out:

  • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for satellite design and analysis, e.g. SolidWorks

  • Experience analysing different system budgets such as power, link, and delta-V

  • Experience with orbit simulation tools, e.g. STK, GMAT

  • Experience with DFMEA

  • Basic working knowledge of C/C++ or Python

  • Knowledge of UML/SysML

  • Project and risk management skills

  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence)

  • Familiarity with ECSS standards and formal verification/validation processes Why EnduroSat?
