Job Description
Workers mowing/bush-hogging, cut, rake and roll hay, chop, haul and bag wheatlage and silage or any other farm related task. Workers may operate tractors and farm equipment to cut, rake and bail hay and wheatlage and wrap for storage, harvesting of corn silage/ chopping and bagging, disc fields after harvest, plant and fertilize cover crops. Operate tractor and equipment to mow/bush-hogg pastures and fields. May operate truck/tractor and wagon to move hay for storage and wrapping wheatlage. Workers will taking soil samples, discing, to prepare fields for corn plant crops in the spring. Workers may operate farm equipment to spread fertilizer and spray for weeds. Will work with the management of livestock, herd health work associated with breeding and calving season. Inspect herd to identifying signs of illness or injury, administering medications and vaccinations as directed by employer, tag for identification, castrate and monitor for signs of distress, operate tractor to feed hay/wheatlage, silage and mineral during winter months as directed by employer, ensure cattle access to water, operate tractor remove manure from fed area as directed by employer, monitor heard cow and first time heifers during pregnancy and assist with calf birthing as needed, monitor cow/calf for signs of distress, mending established fences to ensure cattle do trespass on neighbors properties and/or roadways, assist with loading and transportation of livestock in truck and trailer. Alternative work may include cleaning barns, mowing, weeding eating around outbuilding and fences.
