Sysco is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer. Sysco LABS, the global in-house center for Sysco Corporation, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer. This role involves researching, evaluating, and recommending DevOps tools, deploying and managing AWS cloud-based production systems, and ensuring system security. The engineer will also coach development teams in DevOps practices and work collaboratively in an Agile delivery environment.

Key focus areas include Research, evaluate and recommend DevOps tools in multiple technologies for multiple development teams, Deploy, automate, maintain and manage AWS cloud-based production systems, and Ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems.

Successful candidates bring Bachelor's In Computer Science Or Equivalent, 2-4 Years DevOps Experience, and 1+ Years Programming Language Experience. Important skills include DevOps Tools, AWS Cloud Computing, Terraform, Jenkins, GoCD, and GitHub. Preferred (not required): C#.

The Opportunity:

We are currently on the lookout for Senior Engineer s - DevOps - to join our t eam.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research ing, evaluating and r ecommend ing DevOps tools in multiple technologies for multiple development teams

  • Deploying, automating, mai ntaining and managing AWS cloud- based production system s , to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems

  • Build ing , releas ing and configuration m anagement of production systems that need to be supported 24* 7 uptime

  • Ensuring critical system security using the best - in - class cloud security solutions

  • Coaching development teams in DevOps practices and guiding the tea m to implement effective DevOps

  • Work ing collaboratively in a cross - functional team in an Agile delivery environment

  • B e ing involve d in projects throughout their full software lifecycle : from development, QA, and deployment , to post-production support

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent , and  2-4 years of  experience in DevOps

  • A s trong knowledge o f AWS cloud computing and AWS DevOps tools

  • Strong knowledge in fundamental DevOps tools such as AWS DevOps tools, Terraform, Jenkins, GoCD , GitHub, Nagios, Chef etc.

  • Strong knowledg e on containerization of software packages using solutions such as Dockerization , Kubernetes , AWS ECS and AWS Fargate , etc.

  • Hands - on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting DevOps tools in production systems

  • Adherence to enginee ring standards, best practices – must be process - oriented

  • Strong communication skills – reading and comprehending documents/specifications, producing clear and thorough documentation, and the ability to discuss and explain technical issues during meetings

  • 1+ years of experience with at least one dynamic object-oriented programing language like Groovy, Ruby or Python ; Experience with a programming language like Java, C#, Node.js JavaScript and related web frameworks will be an added advantage
