NJR Home Services, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Generator Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing residential and commercial standby generator systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, works independently, and is committed to delivering exceptional service and safety.

Major Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and service on a variety of generator systems and related equipment.

Troubleshoot generator performance issues and identify root causes through systematic inspection and testing procedures.

Determine and implement appropriate corrective actions based on failure analysis and equipment evaluation.

Inspect, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test generator engines and components to ensure optimal performance.

Conduct equipment start-up, commissioning, inspections, repairs, and load bank testing as required.

Complete warranty documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Order and manage parts and materials necessary to complete repairs and service activities.

Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair recommendations to customers and management.

Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable industry regulations.

Position Requirements:

Minimum of 4 years of generator service, mechanical, electrical, or related field experience.

Current Generac Air-Cooled Certification preferred.

Generac Liquid-Cooled Certification preferred; candidates must be willing to obtain certification through company-sponsored training if not currently certified.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex equipment issues.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Ability and willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Other Details:

Compensation: The base pay for this role is $35.02/hour.

This role will be eligible to participate in a union annual short term incentive program.
