Overview

The Honors College at Auburn University seeks an energetic, creative, and organized Student Assistant to assist with programming and event coordination. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in event planning, program development, budgeting, and administrative support. The position focuses on key Honors College events and programs, such as Cup at Cater, Fall Frenzy, Candy Bars, Break for Breakfast, formal events and ceremonies, ACT with Honors, and more.

Additionally, the student worker will play an integral role in the development of the Week of Service Program and may assist with the associated class. Students with an interest in or studying Hospitality Management are strongly encouraged to apply, though all Honors students are welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Event Support & Logistics: Assist with setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination for Honors College events.

  • Program Development: Contribute to the conceptualization, design, and implementation of innovative ideas for programming and events.

  • Administrative Duties:

  • Utilize tools like Excel to organize schedules, track budgets, and manage participant data.

  • Maintain and prepare event materials and supplies

  • Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with Honors College staff, students, and external partners to ensure the seamless execution of programs and events.

  • Week of Service Planning: Support brainstorming sessions, organize materials, and assist with logistics of the Week of Service program and related events.
