ABET Assessment and Accreditation Coordinator

Position Summary

The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University seeks an individual to provide guidance for program assessment, evaluation, and accreditation preparation efforts during academic years 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 in advance of the Fall 2028 ABET accreditation review.

The coordinator will lead an effort to review and strengthen the program’s assessment and evaluation practices to help prepare for the Fall 2028 accreditation review. More specifically, this individual will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and department leadership to streamline collection and interpretation of assessment data for improvement of student learning and compliance with ABET criteria. Mentoring will focus on building program capacity for sustained leadership of the assessment and evaluation processes at the conclusion of the appointment.

Doctorate -Chemical Engineering

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 6 years of ABET program assessment, evaluation, and accreditation preparation efforts in ChE program.

  • Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering

Desired Qualifications

Over 12 year of ABET program assessment, evaluation, and accreditation preparation efforts in ChE program.
