Full job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Supervisor, Environmental Services, you will assist the manager/director in providing leadership to the Environmental Services department, ensuring a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff members.

Every day you will manage daily operations including associate scheduling, coordinating work activities among departments, training and mentoring staff, performance evaluations, and implementing quality and process improvement initiatives. You will also ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership, organizational, and operational management skills in environmental services, expertise in regulatory compliance, and a proven ability to manage staff, drive quality improvement, and ensure a high standard of cleanliness and safety.

  • Supervises the necessary resources needed for the Environmental Services department under their control and makes recommendations to hiring, promoting, and annual staff performance reviews. Performs quality improvement initiatives under direction of EVS Manager/Director.

  • Conducts rounding activities to ensure environmental hygiene in all areas assigned.

  • Prepares necessary reporting to manager(s) and document results. Supervises the bed tracking system and ensures EVS response times are achieved.

  • Prepares reports to document results, collaborating with the EVS manager to develop improvement activities. Oneonone training and development of EVS staff.

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the cleaning and disinfection principles and requirements, proper chemical, equipment usage, and labor requirements for maintenance of furniture, furnishings, interior finishes for all areas of responsibility.

  • Promotes and supervises a culture of safety, hand hygiene, patient experience, as well as employee engagement and retention.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 12:30am, subject to change with departmental needs

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Three (3) years in Environmental Services

  • Experience with typical EVS equipment/machinery

  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of the principles of environmental infection prevention and control

  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of OSHA, TJC, DOT, CDC Policy and Standard Work development/implementation

Preferred

  • One (1) year in supervisory level experience in supervising staff

  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification

  • Strong working knowledge of PM software and EVS software systems

Pay Range

$19.96 - $31.01 /hour
