Local Pay: $36.00/hour

Dental Assistant (Periodontal) Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments for periodontal procedures.

  • Assist the periodontist with surgical procedures such as scaling and root planning, crown lengthening, dental implant placement and tissue grafting.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and charting of patient records.

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post operative care instructions.

  • Monitor inventory and maintain adequate stock of instruments and supplies.

  • Ensure proper infection control protocols and OSHA compliance are met

  • Support front office staff with scheduling and patient communication as needed.

  • Foster a collaborative and professional clinical environment. .

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current, valid, and unrestrictedVA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of dental assistant experience in periodontal.

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program.

  • X-Ray certification. -1-2 years experience.

  • Dental Assistant Certification

  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents.
