Job Description:

Provides accurate and consistent information to participants regarding childbirth education. Uses various teaching techniques related to childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, infant care, maternal/infant support, and Safe Sleep practices. Discusses Infant Safe Sleep guidelines in all classes. Ensures class content is accurate and evidence-based. Meets the educational needs of participants. Educates the community about childbirth education. Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at meetings and staff development programs. Adheres to hospital confidentiality policy. Keeps supplies clean and orderly. Other duties as assigned. Ensures all educational sessions are engaging, informative, and tailored to meet the needs of diverse families. Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work with others. Works independently with supervisor support. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Effective communication skills. [Required]

• Organizational skills [Required]

• Computer skills, related to creating/updating PowerPoint material, conducting Virtual classes as well as in-person classes [Required]

• Current research information on Childbirth Education, for all classes being taught [Required]

• Basic knowledge of current class scheduling system (Blackthorn) [Required]

• Knowledge of Newborn Care, Breastfeeding, infant CPR, Childbirth Preparation, Safe Sleep Practices, according to class being taught [Required] Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]

• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years experience of teaching childbirth education classes [Required]

• Maternal/Newborn or Labor and Delivery Experience [Preferred] Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) [Required]

Pay Range:

$33.99 - $63.22 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
