Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Job Overview

The Manager, Data Contracting Support is responsible for leading operational support and lifecycle management activities that enable effective and compliant data contracting by the business with vendors, customers, research organizations and strategic partners. This role plays a key part in ensuring consistent data contract terms to support the compliant use of data related to company medical devices, services, software, employees and customers and to advance patient care through the proper collection, maintenance and use of data. The position partners closely with Legal, IT, ISRM, R&D, HEMA and Commercial teams to implement standardized contract terms for the treatment of protected data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data contracting support activities, ensuringconsistent use of templates and standard terms across the company.

  • Working withthe Chief Privacy Officer and Director, Privacy Policies, adjust contract templates and standard data terms to addresschanges to privacy and data protection laws.

  • Advise businesspartnerson negotiations of data contracts.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degreerequired, preferably in BusinessAdministration, DataSciences, PublicPolicy, InformationSystems,LegalStudiesorrelatedfield.

Experience and Skills

Required

  • Typically requiresat least5 yearsof relevant experienceincontracting support,data management,privacy, compliance, paralegal support, or related roles.

  • Demonstrated experiencereviewing, drafting, advisingonormanaging contracts.

  • Facility with document management or contracting software applications.

  • Experience with privacy or data protection laws, includingby way of example, HIPAA, GDPR, U.S. state and federal laws for the protection of financial,personalor patient data.

  • Strongwriting and communicationskills with the ability tounderstand legal terms and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience in medicaldevice,medtech, healthcare,pharmaceutical, orother industriessubject to dataregulationor data protection laws.

  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM), ERP, or pricing systems.

  • Experience supporting audits, controls, or compliance‑driven processes.

  • Experience driving process standardization or operational excellence initiatives.

  • Advancedproficiencyin data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, dashboards, analytics platforms).

  • Experience partnering cross‑functionally in a matrixed organization.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and compliance.

Other

  • Language: Englishproficiencyrequired.

  • Travel: Up to 10–15% domestic travel, as needed.

  • Certifications suchasCIPP, CIPM or equivalenta plus.

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
