Balance & Rotating Equipment Technician
Pay: $30 + DOE
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Balance & Rotating Equipment Technician to inspect, repair, balance, and test a wide range of rotating equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with precision measuring instruments, dynamic balancing, shaft alignment, and the assembly and disassembly of industrial rotating machinery. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, performance, and compliance with customer and OEM specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble rotating equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, turbines, blowers, fans, gearboxes, and other mechanical assemblies.

Perform dynamic balancing of rotors, impellers, armatures, shafts, and other rotating components using balancing equipment.

Conduct precision measurements using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, bore gauges, and other inspection tools.

Perform shaft alignment using laser alignment and dial indicator methods.

Inspect bearings, seals, sleeves, couplings, and other critical components for wear or damage, replacing parts as required.

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and OEM specifications to ensure proper repairs and assembly.

Complete vibration analysis, runout checks, and concentricity measurements to verify equipment performance.

Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, presses, lathes, milling machines, and other shop equipment safely.

Maintain detailed inspection reports, balancing records, and repair documentation.

Ensure all work complies with company quality standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Assist with field service repairs and equipment installations when required.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.

2+ years of experience repairing or balancing industrial rotating equipment.

Experience with pumps, motors, compressors, turbines, blowers, fans, or gearboxes.

Strong understanding of bearings, seals, couplings, shaft alignment, and balancing principles.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.

Proficient with precision measuring instruments and balancing equipment.

Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment.

Basic machining experience is a plus.

Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a manufacturing or repair shop environment.
