The Graduate Assistant for the Office of the Provost provides administrative, operational, and project support to advance the mission and strategic priorities of Academic Affairs. Working closely with the Office of the Provost (Academic Affairs, Budget and Fiscal Affairs, Faculty Affairs, and Academic Administration and Operations). The Graduate Assistant assists with research, policy development, data analysis, budget tracking, faculty initiatives, strategic planning, and special projects that promote institutional effectiveness and academic excellence.
Responsibilities:

Provide front-office support by responding to routine inquiries and directing questions to the appropriate staff member
-
Assist with reviewing and proofreading reports, correspondence, and other administrative documents. Organize and maintain electronic files, records, and project documentation
-
Assist with special projects that support the Office of the Provost (Academic Affairs, Budget and Fiscal Affairs, Faculty Affairs and Academic Administration and Operations)
-
Assist with maintaining budget spreadsheets, tracking expenditures, and reconciling financial records under staff supervision
-
Provide support with meetings and office sponsored events
-
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
-
Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Prairie View A&M University. (Minimum of 9 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester).

Must be in good academic standing

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Accounting, Education, English, Finance, Math, Public Policy, or related field)

Ability to work 25 hours per week

Must be enrolled in 9 graduate credits each semester

Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00

Demonstrated evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal; organizational, and analytical skills

Demonstrated evidence of professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy with university information
