Part-Time Activities Assistant
Job Summary
Newport Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 139-bed facility located in the heart of Lancaster County, is seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant to join our team of Healthcare Heroes! As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in facilitating group and individual activities, such as exercise, trivia, games, and art, to enhance the lives of our elderly residents.
Responsibilities

Facilitate group and individual activities, including exercise, trivia, games, and art, to promote resident engagement and well-being

Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities that align with their interests and abilities

Work independently with limited supervision at times and effectively as a team member

Escort residents on outings as needed

Demonstrate professionalism and respect towards residents, considering their specific clinical level of function

Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity planning
Ideal Candidate

Has a passion for working with the elderly and understands their needs

Possesses a positive and optimistic attitude that uplifts the spirits of our residents

Is able to work flexible schedules and be available for outings
Requirements

Previous experience with geriatric population preferred, but we will train the right candidate

Bilingual speaking is a plus

Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting and transferring residents
