Duties/Responsibilities:
-
Ability to work in a safe manner and to identify if equipment is safe to operate.
-
Complete paperwork and computer transactions with attention to detail
-
Operate and read digital scales
-
Ability to troubleshoot computer issues when the need arises
-
Occasionally schedule trucks and process dock receipts
-
Maintain Kanban board within the department
-
Operate a skid wrapper machine
-
Responsible for completing inventory transactions and maintaining accurate inventories
-
Drive a stand-up Raymond, tugger, order picker and operate a forklift truck, which may work at different heights
-
Load and unload trucks by forklift or hand loader and keep required documentation
-
Ability to train, instruct and assist other department employees, as needed
-
Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions within recognized procedures
-
Proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision and assistance
-
Ability to keep their work area clean and follow 5S standards
-
Ability to work within high performance team guidelines (HPT)
-
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
-
Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner, that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment
-
Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk
-
Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately
-
Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner
-
Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and
5-S projects
Required Skills/Abilities:
-
Able to operate mobile, mechanical equipment in compliance with OSHA standards
-
Complete certification and be issued a forklift and equipment license
-
Basic computer skills
-
Good verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience:
-
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
-
Preferred: Associates degree or working towards a degree
