The Transmission Project Engineer manages the engineering and design of high-voltage transmission projects from early-stage development through construction support and project execution. Important skills include Substation Design, Coordinating EOR's, Handling Tight Bid Windows, Managing Early Competitive Transmission Proposals, HVDC Experience, and Project Engineering. Preferred (not required): Engineering High Voltage Transmission Projects.

Job Description
The Transmission Project Engineer is responsible for managing the engineering and design of assigned high-voltage transmission projects from early-stage development through construction support and project execution. This role serves as the technical lead for transmission infrastructure projects, including FERC Order 1000 competitive transmission proposals, generation interconnection projects, and early-stage development initiatives. The engineer partners closely with project managers, development teams, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and specifications. This description aligns with internal NextEra transmission engineering responsibilities. This role pays $50-57/hour.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering is preferred.
5-7 years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage transmission projects, coordinating EOR’s, handling tight bid windows and managing early competitive transmission proposals HVDC experience is a plus. Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action.
PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus.
