Full job description
Turner Staffing Group is seeking a project-based Geotechnician to support field geology, drilling, surveying, and ore control activities in Tok, Alaska.
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient collection of drill samples and for assisting field teams with geologic mapping, survey staking, drill pad inspections, and related project activities. The Geotechnician will work closely with contractors and field personnel and must be able to complete assigned tasks safely, accurately, and with minimal supervision.
Local candidates are preferred.
Responsibilities

Safely collect, organize, label, and handle drill samples.

Conduct drill pad inspections and report field conditions.

Assist survey crews with staking and other field support activities.

Support geology teams with mapping and ore control work.

Use a Brunton compass or similar field equipment.

Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Communicate with contractors, supervisors, and project personnel.

Follow established safety procedures and project requirements.

Maintain accurate field records and complete assigned work with minimal supervision.

Perform physically demanding work in outdoor and remote field conditions.
Qualifications

Previous labor, construction, mining, exploration, or similar field experience preferred.

Experience safely using hand and power tools.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on uneven terrain.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and maintain a strong commitment to safety.

Experience with drill sample handling, geologic mapping, survey staking, GPS equipment, or a Brunton compass is preferred but not required.
