DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
-
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a core member of the executive leadership team. This executive provides strategic direction, clinical oversight, and operational management for all nursing and patient care services. Is responsible for the delivery of nursing care whenever it is practiced. Serves as liaison to Hospitalist Program. The CNO aligns nursing goals with the organization’s mission to drive high-quality, patient-centered care. This executive reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional/Educational
-
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master of Health Administration (MHA), or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is required.

Active unrestricted IL RN Licensure required
-
Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) preferred.

Minimum of 5–8 years of direct acute-care nursing experience.

At least 5 years in a progressive healthcare management role, such as a Director of Nursing or Department Head level position in Clinical and/or Business Management.

DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.

Personal

Deep familiarity with healthcare accounting, productivity metrics, and capital allocation.

Exceptional public speaking, conflict resolution, and board-level presentation capabilities.

Proven resilience and decision-making agility under intense operational stress.
Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
