Transportation (Bus) Aide
Bettendorf Community School District
Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dependable and caringTransportation (Bus) Aideto join our transportation team. This position assists in providing a safe and positive transportation experience for students while supporting the bus driver with student needs and supervision.
Start Date:As Soon As Possible
Schedule:Approximately 4-5 hours per day
Hourly Rate:$20.15/hour
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-
Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and needs
-
Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent schedule
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow district safety procedures
-
Must successfully complete all required background checks and employment requirements
-
Must be able to provide required I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States.
Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities
-
Assist students with safely entering and exiting the school bus
-
Provide supervision and support to students while the bus is in operation
-
Assist students with seat belts, safety equipment, or other transportation needs as necessary
-
Support the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment
-
Follow student-specific transportation and safety plans as directed
-
Communicate appropriately with transportation staff, school staff, students, and families
-
Respond calmly and appropriately to student needs or emergency situations
-
Maintain confidentiality regarding students and district information
-
Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned
