Full job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

To be successful in this role, you will possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

  • Utilizes the AIDET principle to communicate with others, with a focus on patients and their families (Acknowledge Introduce Explain Duration Thank).

  • Demonstrates competence in preparation of the designated Operating Room, selection of necessary equipment, instruments and supplies in accordance with the surgeon's preference card.

  • Scrubs for surgical procedures as assigned. Consistently anticipates the needs of the surgeon in preparing and passing instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies during the operative procedure.

  • Assists in cleaning rooms and equipment. Works in an organized manner to facilitate timely turnovers.

  • Completes assigned work and assists nursing staff as required. Adapts work to the ever-changing surgical schedule.

  • Develops and maintains Surgeon preference lists and procedure pick lists.

Job Requirements

Required

  • 2 years ORT experience

  • Certified Surgical Technologist

  • Active Surgery Technologist in the State of California

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
