Description
Welder
Hartzell Welders build fan products to specification by interpreting blueprints and joining metal components using MIG and TIG welding equipment. This role involves using overhead cranes and performing physical tasks such as walking, bending, reaching, stretching, and welding in a variety of positions. Because of our broad product offerings, the work is varied from day to day.
Qualifications and Required Skills:

Trade School Certificate or 2 years of welding experience

Experience with and knowledge of hand tools.

Strong blueprint interpretation / reading skills.

Ability to crouch and kneel.
-
Must be able to pass written quiz and hands on weld test.
Requirements
Basic Function: Sets-up and operates GMAW (MIG) equipment on mild steel, aluminum and stainless according to blueprints and shop drawings.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Reads work orders and parts lists.

Works from blueprints given in work orders.

Demonstrated proficiency in welding. Determines material type and thickness of weld wire to use.

Sets-up welding equipment per material type listed on work order. Welds weldments per work order and blueprints.

Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products prior to welding.

Uses basic power hand tools and grinders to clean up weld work e.g. de-burring, clean weld splatter.

Completes a visual inspection of welded assemblies.

Supports the Hartzell Culture initiatives and displays and portrays the Hartzell Values.

Follows all safety practices and rules.

Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.

Support and completes other duties given by team leader, as necessary.
