Position Summary:

This position is responsible for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests according to department policies, procedures and steps of service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the handling of payment in cash outlets, per established check tendering procedures

  • Clears glassware, ashtrays and debris in assigned pit area

  • Consistently applies knowledge of all legal beverage service guidelines

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment, according to department policies and procedures

  • Advises and assists guests in beverage selections

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with serving cocktails or as a waiter or waitress or comparable customer service related job

Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Excellent knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes and all beverage service techniques

  • Knowledge of drinks and recipes and ability to use endorsements at appropriate service opportunities

  • Skills in proper tray preparation and handling

  • Proficiency in ordering beverages utilizing the proper established call order

  • Ability to adapt to new industry technology

  • Excellent knowledge of the overall property and gaming floor

  • Excellent knowledge of state liquor laws including proper identification procedures, monitoring levels of intoxication, intervention strategies, refusal of service and shutoff procedures

Training Requirements:

  • Outlet-specific standard operating procedures

  • SMART alcohol awareness

  • Established Beverage Server training and shadowing program

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand and walk large areas for an entire shift

  • Must be able to bend and lift full beverage trays of up to 25 lbs.

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions

  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
