Full job description

The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, an award-winning federally qualified community health center in New York City, is seeking a part-time Optometrist to join its Primary Eye Care service in Lower Manhattan, servicing underserved Asian Americans in a high quality, vibrant and compassionate environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide quality optometric eye care, including conducting eye exams, diagnosing vision problems, prescribing eyeglasses, medical co-management of cataracts, glaucoma and other diseases affecting the eye, and medical treatment for routine eye problems

  • Work with the Internal Medicine team to ensure that patients are receiving comprehensive medical care

  • Represent the Health Center in the larger community and participate in educational workshops as needed

  • Must be available to work one midweek day per week and three Saturdays a month (2nd, 3rd and last Saturday of the month)

  • Perform other duties as assigned
