Full job description

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift

Description: This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of all mechanical refrigeration equipment including heat pumps, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, window ACs, split system ACs, small reciprocating chillers, etc.

The right candidate will be able to proficient at direct expansion refrigeration troubleshooting and repair:

  • Familiar with mechanical construction drawings

  • Interpret pneumatic control drawings

  • Proficient with air flow hood and velometer

  • Minor repair on steam sterilizers

  • Able to calculate heating and cooling loads

  • Troubleshoot and repair RTUS, heat pumps, refrigerators, small reciprocating compressors, ice machines, water cooled freezers, and split system units

  • Proficient use of incline manometer/pitor tube/velometer

  • Maintain CFC certification

  • Interpret electrical control ladder diagrams

  • Able use of multi-meter and clamp on AMP meter

  • Familiar with interpreting refrigeration charts and use of proper pressure gauges

Proficient use of energy management system:

  • Access and troubleshoot refrigeration related equipment on EMS system

  • Interpret DDC control drawings and points lists

  • Access and override all points

Performs P.M. tasks:

  • Access, change tasks and record history

  • Able to check operating parameters and perform PM tasks on RTU heat pumps, refrigerators, small reciprocating compressors, ice machines, water coolers, split system units, and freezers

  • Applies all health standards

  • Access and record history on PM System

  • Adjust belts

Performs mechanical repairs and maintenance:

  • General soldering

  • Familiar with life safey requirements

  • Familiar with OSHA requirements for safety in the work place

  • Proficient with small hand tools

  • Proficient with tachometer

  • Order parts/ communicate with vendors

  • Proficient at torch brazing

Required for the position: 2 year Associates Degree in Refrigeration or 8-10 years of commercial refrigeration experience. 3-5 years of commercial refrigeration.

Pay Range:$22.25 - $27.42

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
