Job Description

Parent Advocate must be a parent and have a personal experience of mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorder and recovery. Advocate will possess a willingness to share with clients their experience of living with mental illness and managing their role as a parent in a mentor capacity. The Advocate will provide individual and group support services to parents with mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. They will serve as mentors with the goal of strengthening the consumer's parenting and advocacy skills. In addition, Parent Advocates will focus on teaching positive coping and problem solving skills. Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish) is required.
