What You Can Expect:

Under general supervision, responsible for transporting passengers and/or cargo to and from specified destinations. Maintains radio or telephone contact with supervisor or dispatcher to receive delivery or pickup instructions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

Individual incumbents may be responsible for transporting patients as listed below.

Patient Transport:

  • Direct or escort patients to designated area, giving assistance if needed to prevent accidents or falls

  • Transport of patients from cardiac facilities need to be attended by a medical professional if patient is still

under evaluation and care of physician from facility.* Operates vehicle in accordance with established safety procedures. Children under 22-40 lbs must be secured in child safety seat. Infants in own seat, parents will provide seat and secure the child in the sea

  • Maintains radio or telephone contact with supervisor or dispatcher to receive pickup or delivery instructions.

  • Communicates any delays and/or issues to dispatcher immediately

  • Directs or escorts patients to designated area, giving assisting if needed to prevent accidents or falls.

  • Observes the hospital exterior and parking lots to report any suspicious activity to the Security Department.

  • Maintains records of receipts and expenses to allow for adequate budget preparation.

  • Maintains the vehicle maintenance as needed and informs supervisor of needed repairs

  • Maintains logs recording cargo transported, arrival and departure times, and miles traveled.

  • Initiates problem solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with peers.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience: 1 year experience

  • Licenses/Certifications: Current driver's license in the state of practice
