Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Parts Assistant for a leading fleet maintenance and heavy-duty equipment environment. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring repair operations run smoothly by sourcing, tracking, and delivering parts across the DFW area. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced setting where urgency and accuracy are key. This person will collaborate with technicians, vendors, and internal teams to minimize downtime and keep fleet operations efficient, while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and inventory processes.

  • Source, identify, and procure parts for fleet maintenance and repair needs

  • Perform daily parts pickups and deliveries across the DFW area

  • Maintain and track inventory levels, stock, and order fulfillment

  • Receive, verify, organize, and store incoming parts

  • Maintain accurate records for orders, returns, warranties, and inventory

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding availability, pricing, and timelines

  • Support technicians by ensuring timely delivery of correct parts

  • Conduct inventory audits and cycle counts

  • Ensure safe transport and delivery of parts

  • Follow all safety guidelines in shop, yard, and while driving

Skills and Requirements

  • Experience in a service department, parts department, dealership, repair shop, or fleet operation

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and repair parts terminology

  • Ability to accurately identify and source parts for vehicles or equipment

  • Experience with inventory management, stock control, or parts tracking systems

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools

  • Strong organization and attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills with vendors, technicians, and internal teams

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to urgent needs

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Ability to safely operate pickup truck, flatbed, or trailer (no CDL required)

  • Commitment to safety standards and procedures • Dealership parts department experience

  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills

  • Knowledge of warranties, returns, cores, and vendor documentation

  • Experience supporting heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, or fleet assets

  • Familiarity with shop or field repair operations

  • Basic understanding of sales or marketing within parts industry
