Making the leap from nursing school to professional practice can be overwhelming and at Sentara, we understand. Sentara offers a newly graduated Registered Nurse with less than 12 months of experience, a Nurse Residency Program that can give you the skills and support you need to make a successful transition into your professional practice.
What the program offers:
- No separate application and no application deadlines.
- Automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses.
- Available at all 12 Sentara hospitals.
- After orientation, begin your Residency right away.
- 6-months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in 6 areas: Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health
- Topics such as career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.

FAST-TRACK APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program Licensure: Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one Experience: Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice Apply once and we can connect you to any location, units, and the recruiters and hiring managers that support them.
