Job Description

Kemps, LLC, a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America, is looking for a reliable, safety-minded team member to join our distribution center as a 1st Shift Vacation Relief employee. In this role, you’ll help keep daily operations moving by supporting cooler, warehouse, yard, and delivery activities.

Days Worked....Varies depending on schedule relieving on.

Time of Start....Varies depending on schedule relieving on.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Help support daily cooler, warehouse, yard, and delivery operations.

  • Load, unload, move, stage, receive, store, shuttle, and distribute dairy products, trailers, materials, and equipment.

  • Safely operate assigned equipment, which may include warehouse equipment, yard trucks, tractor-trailers, or other vehicles depending on the assignment.

  • Rotate product using first-in, first-out practices to help maintain product quality and freshness.

  • Follow direction from supervisors, dispatch, or radio communication and adjust to changing daily priorities.

  • Complete required paperwork, inspections, move sheets, delivery/loadout records, and other documentation accurately and on time.

  • Perform equipment checks, report safety or maintenance concerns, fuel equipment when needed, and secure equipment at the end of the shift.

  • Follow food safety, quality, sanitation, PPE, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safe work procedures.

  • Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized in warehouse, cooler, indoor, outdoor, and weather-exposed environments.

  • Work professionally with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and other teams.

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A dependable team player who takes safety, accuracy, and product quality seriously.

  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred based on location and role requirements.

  • Previous experience in production, warehouse, delivery, transportation, food and beverage, or related general work is helpful.

  • For driving-related duties, 1–2 years of related experience, a valid Class A CDL, doubles endorsement, clean driving record, or other role-specific certification may be required or preferred.

  • Must be at least 21 years old for applicable driving roles.

  • Must be able to pass required pre-employment screenings, including drug, background, and criminal checks.

  • Able to follow directions, complete tasks accurately, and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to read, write, speak English, and complete clear, accurate records.

  • Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.

  • Able to perform physical work throughout the shift, including lifting up to 55 pounds.

  • Comfortable working in cooler, warehouse, indoor, outdoor, year-round weather, and moderate-noise environments.

  • Willing to work flexible hours, including varying schedules, overtime, weekends, holidays, or relief coverage as business needs require.
