Senior Power BI Developer (Medallion Architecture)

Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer that specializes in Medallion architecture to work remote in the US! This consultant will support Nordson Corporation's reporting and analytics team as they transition their existing Dynamics 365 reporting environment into a Medallion Architecture framework. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Power BI expert with strong Azure data platform experience who can assess the current-state architecture, migrate and optimize reporting solutions, troubleshoot data pipeline issues, and help establish a sustainable support model for the internal team. This person will work closely with Dave Knudson's team to provide technical leadership, document processes, and ensure Nordson's reporting and self-service analytics capabilities are successfully supported within the Medallion environment moving forward.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Assess Nordson's existing reporting ecosystem and Medallion Architecture implementation

• Partner closely with Ted, Meenakshi, and Dave's team to understand current-state reporting processes

• Migrate and align existing reporting assets into the Medallion framework

• Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports

• Troubleshoot reporting issues resulting from D365 and Azure architecture changes

• Evaluate and establish best practices for supporting self-service analytics within the Medallion environment

• Assist with .PBIX file deployment, configuration, and governance

• Document solutions and train Nordson team members on architecture, processes, and long-term support strategies

• Provide hands-on development support while helping build internal knowledge of the platform

$50-70/hr

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of Power BI development experience

• Hands-on experience working within a Medallion Architecture framework (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)

• Strong Azure data platform experience

Azure Data Lake

Azure Synapse Analytics

Databricks or similar modern data platforms

• Experience integrating and reporting on Microsoft Dynamics 365 data

• Strong SQL development skills

• Experience designing and optimizing enterprise reporting solutions

• Ability to evaluate existing architecture and recommend sustainable support processes

• Experience troubleshooting data pipelines and report performance issues

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to internal teams

• Ability to work independently with minimal business-user interaction • Previous experience supporting Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environments

• Experience migrating reporting solutions into Medallion Architecture

• Microsoft Fabric experience

• Experience working with self-service analytics environments

• Prior experience partnering with large implementation firms (Hitachi, Accenture, Deloitte, etc.)

• Experience managing .PBIX deployment and governance strategies

• Manufacturing industry experience
