Our client, a leader in computing technology, is seeking a dedicated Optics Engineer to join their innovative team. As an Optics Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Engineering and Manufacturing Department supporting cutting-edge research and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent collaboration abilities, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Optics Engineer

Location: Broomfield, Colorado

Compensation: $82-88/hr

What's the Job?

  • Design, assemble, align, and test complex optical systems used in quantum computing applications

  • Build and characterize high-precision optical sub-assemblies to meet technical specifications

  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on optical and opto-mechanical systems to improve design and manufacturing processes

  • Align, integrate, and test prototype and proof-of-concept systems involving lasers, optics, fibers, electronics, software, and mechanical assemblies

  • Document results, communicate findings to cross-functional teams, and support production readiness

What's Needed?

  • A bachelor’s degree in an optics-related field such as optics, physics, or electrical engineering

  • Hands-on experience with optical systems integration and alignment

  • Experience supporting reliable, long-term operation of optical sub-assemblies

  • Proficiency in optical characterization techniques, including measurements of power, phase, stability, frequency, and polarization

  • Experience with optical frequency noise reduction, spectrum analysis, and phase noise measurement tools
