A Brief Overview

Accountable for the direction and scheduling of physician referrals and/or procedures for the consumer.

What you will do

  • Schedules all out-of-clinic procedures and appointments including but not limited to, clinic diagnostics, hospital-based diagnostics, specialty physician clinic appointments, etc.

  • Develops and researches insurance information and serves as a resource for preauthorization efficiencies, preauthorizing procedures, ensuring consent forms and waivers are signed as appropriate.

  • Complete requests of medical records to the referring physician and order forms for procedures to be scheduled by the hospital.

  • Communicates with patients to inform them of the date, time and location of appointments and procedures.

  • Follow-up mailings may also be necessary to inform patients of testing protocol and requirements.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years Healthcare, administrative work involving scheduling and/or insurance duties
