Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full-time, experienced Welder to perform repairs and fabricate heavy construction and mining equipment at our Buhl branch. Hours: M-F 3:00PM - 11:30PM.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding and fabrication

  • Maintain equipment such as dressing welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and other adjustments as necessary

  • Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards

  • Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs

  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge

Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical college degree/certificate in welding or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable welding experience

  • Able to operate spot welder, arc welder, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sander, hand-tools, bandsaw, drills, temporary fixturing devices, and other metal-fabrication equipment

  • Able to read dimensional blueprints

  • Experience with gauging and measuring preferred

  • Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members

  • Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems

  • Own mechanic tool set

  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment

  • This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test

Minimum Physical Requirements :

  • Push/pull up to 50 lbs

  • Lift/carry up to 60 lbs

  • Lift bulky objects

  • Able to wear positive air flow mask while working.

  • Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, n eck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.

  • Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
