Job Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to remove defective parts or to make repairs.

  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections

  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges

  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices

  • Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery

  • Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications

  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts; and sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary

  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines

  • Repairs electrical equipment. Replacing like equipment as dined in NAC.

  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.

  • Will participate and train with the HazMat team.

Minimum of 2 years of Food plant experience or 2 years of Industrial Maintenance experience or a combination totaling 2 years.
