Our client, a leading organization in the steelmaking industry, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Melt Shop to join their team. As a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Melt Shop, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the Melt Shop operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Melt Shop
Location: Beaumont, Texas
Pay Range: $100,000 to $120,000
What's the Job?

Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities for melt shop equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Lead a team of 25+ millwrights to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of critical melt shop machinery

Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance

Manage maintenance schedules, prioritize tasks, and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times

Investigate equipment failures, troubleshoot issues, and initiate corrective actions promptly
What's Needed?
-
Formal training in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with 8 to 10 years of heavy mechanical maintenance experience

Experience supervising maintenance teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment
-
Knowledge of melt shop equipment such as cranes, scrap handling systems, and HVAC systems
-
Union experience is a big plus, particularly with United Steelworkers

Ability to work on-call on a rotating weekend schedule and respond to emergency maintenance needs
