Preferred (not required): Union Experience and United Steelworkers.

Our client, a leading organization in the steelmaking industry, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Melt Shop to join their team. As a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Melt Shop, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the Melt Shop operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Melt Shop

Location: Beaumont, Texas

Pay Range: $100,000 to $120,000

What's the Job?

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities for melt shop equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Lead a team of 25+ millwrights to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of critical melt shop machinery

  • Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance

  • Manage maintenance schedules, prioritize tasks, and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times

  • Investigate equipment failures, troubleshoot issues, and initiate corrective actions promptly

What's Needed?

  • Formal training in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with 8 to 10 years of heavy mechanical maintenance experience

  • Experience supervising maintenance teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Knowledge of melt shop equipment such as cranes, scrap handling systems, and HVAC systems

  • Union experience is a big plus, particularly with United Steelworkers

  • Ability to work on-call on a rotating weekend schedule and respond to emergency maintenance needs
