Job Duties

2026 SALARY: $28.28 - $38.18 per hour

CLOSING DATE: Open until filled; initial review due August 26, 2026

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; 3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and a valid Driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for completing non-routine work to support the planning, design, construction, and permitting of County construction projects. Responsibilities may include creating, reviewing, and interpreting plans, maps and engineering calculations; inspecting projects and construction materials; staking; technical writing; and acting as a liaison to the public.

WORK TEST PERIOD:

Appointee to the position must successfully complete probationary period per contract.

BACKGROUND CHECK:

Applicants selected for appointment must pass a criminal background check.

DRUG TESTING:

Applicants selected for appointment must take and pass a drug test.

PHYSICAL-MEDICAL STANDARDS:

Applicants must meet essential physical requirements of the position.

All new employees must complete and sign employment eligibility verification form on the first day of employment. Documentation verifying identity and employment eligibility must be submitted within three days of the first day of employment.
