Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility is home to the North American headquarters of our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV). Here, you will help design, manufacture, maintain, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Own small-scale projects and take them from concept to implementation. Obtain buy-in from more senior engineers.

•Leveraging experience in one or more technical disciplines, resolve most engineering issues without assistance.

•May conduct analysis on a specific item or in support of a larger project.

•Develop testing protocol with input from others and then execute it.

•Leveraging experience in one or more technical disciplines, develop quality expectations and ensure QA protocols are in place for adherence to standards.

•Establish production procedures, work instructions, QA matrices, and bills of materials for a single product or a specific production activity.

•Provide problem resolution using root cause corrective action methodologies.

•Perform modification and refinement of existing product lines.

•Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job.

•Create new documents such as reports and test plans.

•With oversight and direction, for new purchased parts, work with vendors to establish quality expectations, obtain costing, validate performance, and may do some cost analysis.

•Contribute on larger-scale engineering projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Continued

  • Operate in a support role to develop new products generated in R&D and bring to the market.

  • Provide training to Customer Service on products.

  • Contribute to reduction of production costs through design refinement, establishing best practices, and implementation of better production methods.

  • Operate in a support role to perform costing analysis and return on investment.

  • Specify and purchase small equipment, such as hand tools.

  • Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture,

  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Working experience in Engineering.

  • Experience in multiple technical disciplines such as polymers, composites, fabrication methods, coatings, castings, or machining.

  • Developing project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Effective computer skills, including MS Office and MS Project

  • Developing skills to effectively lead a team.

  • Able to handle most work-related issues, but exercise good judgment on when to request support.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Proficient in Catia

  • Comfortable using hand tools.

  • Knowledge of the evacuation equipment industry is a plus
