Job Description

Multiple Vacancies Available Across Campus

Residential Student Technicians (RSTs) support the daily operations of the Office of Housing & Residence Life by providing customer service, administrative assistance, operational support, and engagement initiatives that contribute to a safe, welcoming, and student-centered residential community. Assignments vary based on departmental needs and may include front desk operations, office support, residential life/education, facilities support, summer conferences or special events, special projects, and other departmental initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, faculty, staff, and visitors.

  • Assist with front desk operations, office coverage, and administrative tasks.

  • Answer phones, emails, and general housing inquiries.

  • Support residence hall opening, closing, move-in, and move-out processes.

  • Assist with educational, social, and departmental events.

  • Report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to professional staff.

  • Provide logistical and set-up/tear down support for event spaces

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and university policies.

  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Prairie View A&M University student.

  • Eligible for Federal Work-Study.

  • Good academic (minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA) and disciplinary standing

  • Ability to work up to 20 hours per week.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Dependable, organized, and professional.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
