About the Role

The Director of Category Management leads a team of Category Managers and oversees the sourcing, purchasing, and strategy for our floral supplies’ product portfolio. This role ensures product availability, quality, and profitability while collaborating across Sales, Marketing, Logistics, and Quality teams. The position plays a key role in driving innovation, margin growth, and supplier partnerships in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and supervise a team of Category Managers, providing strategic oversight across all product categories.

  • Develop and execute category strategies based on customer needs, seasonal trends, and business objectives.

  • Manage demand planning, inventory levels, and SKU rationalization to maintain efficiency and product availability.

  • Source and negotiate with domestic and international vendors to optimize cost, quality, and lead times.

  • Set and maintain competitive pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and margin targets.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Logistics teams to support customers and streamline operations.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, attend trade shows, and evaluate new products and suppliers.

  • Ensure product quality, usability, and alignment with customer expectations.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support ERP and inventory system optimization.

  • Participate in seasonal planning and key promotional events; travel as required for vendor visits and trade shows

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).

  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, including 2–3 years in a leadership role.

  • Experience in the wholesale floral industry is highly desirable.

  • Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to maintain supplier relationships while achieving cost savings.

  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, contract compliance, and risk management.

  • Proficiency with ERP/inventory systems (Apprise preferred), Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Tableau is a plus.
