Icertis is seeking a Lead Software Engineer – Cloud Operations to support and scale its US Government Cloud Operations (USGov CloudOps) platform within Microsoft Azure Government. This role is critical to ensuring the availability, security, resiliency, and compliance of mission-critical SaaS services supporting U.S. public-sector customers.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in cloud automation, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and secure software development, with hands-on experience operating in regulated, compliance-driven environments such as FedRAMP and IL3–IL5.

Work Location: This role is based onsite in our Reston, VA office.

US Government Cloud Operations (USGov CloudOps) at Icertis is responsible for Availability, Resiliency, Performance, Monitoring, Emergency Response, and Capacity Planning of the Icertis SaaS application & related services within the United States Azure Sovereign Cloud. This position will be working on U.S. government contracts which require either U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons (Permanent Residents), depending on the project. Additionally, this role may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience developing secure, maintainable, and scalable software.

Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, Java, JavaScript, Python, Web APIs, and Microsoft SQL.

Hands-on automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, JSON/YAML.

Experience operating cloud-first, mission-critical systems (Azure preferred).

Working knowledge of Azure Functions, AKS, Docker, and PaaS services.

Strong Windows and Linux systems administration skills.

Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and take ownership of issues through resolution.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred - Federal Environment Experience

Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks: FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC, IL3–IL5, HIPAA, PCI, ISO 27001.

Experience with Azure security services such as WAF, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM), and threat protection.

Knowledge of ITSM / ITIL processes and operational best practices.

Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).

Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Azure Redis Cache.

Interest in AI/ML or GenAI solutions in regulated cloud environments.

Salary Range

Min: $100,000 USD - Max: $170,000 USD

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities. In addition to base salary and an annual target incentive bonus, an equity component is included.

Execute Identity & Access Management (IAM), deployments, upgrades, and change management activities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver time-sensitive public-sector outcomes.

Support audits and compliance activities, including evidence collection and documentation.

Maintain clear, accurate technical documentation for systems and processes.
