Full job description
Job Title: Java Developer
Location: Greenbelt, Maryland
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: 120-190K (depends on years experience)
Work Model: Remote
Security Clearance: Must have an active IRS MBI Clearance
Responsibilities
-
Support the IRS EDOS program by designing, developing, and testing high-performing, scalable enterprise applications using Java technologies.

Collaborate with development teams and product managers to develop software solutions aligned with project requirements.

Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including designing, coding, testing, and deploying.

Write effective APIs and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with interface standards.
-
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software, supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Prepare software releases and participate in Scrum activities, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning.

Integrate microservices within cloud environments and configure Spring Boot applications.

Support modernization of legacy systems and implement Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Requirements
-
Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years of overall experience.

US Citizenship required.
-
Must possess an active IRS MBI Clearance and have current GFE.

Extensive experience in Java Full Stack Development and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Microservices Architecture, and Spring Boot.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.

Experience working in Agile teams.
Desired Skills:

Experience with Spring Boot integration with Kafka.

Background in modernizing legacy systems.
