Nylon Technician

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Nylon Operator to support a high-performing manufacturing environment by executing nylon coating processes with precision and efficiency. This role is responsible for preparing materials, applying coatings, and ensuring all parts meet strict quality and production standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in industrial coating or machining environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform surface preparation processes including sandblasting, abrading, degreasing, washing, and masking

• Heat parts to required temperatures using ovens or induction heaters for nylon application

• Apply nylon coatings using spray powder systems, ensuring proper adhesion and thickness

• Monitor and maintain chemical solutions and perform preventative equipment maintenance

• Interpret machining prints and follow routing instructions to meet production specifications

• Inspect parts during and after processing to verify quality and critical dimensions

• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to address production priorities and quality issues

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to safety standards

• Optimize workflow efficiency by managing cycle times and completing multiple tasks simultaneously

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide feedback on quality or workload trends

Skills and Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a machine shop, painting, or powder coating environment

• Hands-on experience with surface preparation processes (sandblasting, abrading, degreasing, masking, chemical treatment)

• Experience applying coatings using spray powder systems and working with heated parts

• Ability to read and interpret machining prints and follow routing systems

• Proven ability to inspect parts and verify critical features during and post-production

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience operating and maintaining industrial equipment

• High School diploma or GED • Experience with nylon coating processes or similar thermal coating applications

• Familiarity with preventative maintenance of chemical systems and compounds

• Exposure to process improvement or continuous improvement initiatives

• Experience working in a cross-shift or team-based production environment

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify quality trends
